GOODBYE, MYSTIC FALLS — In the aftermath of Alaric (Matt Davis) and Jo’s (guest star Jodi Lyn O’Keefe) powerful nuptials, things take a dramatic turn when an uninvited guest shows up, leaving Elena (Nina Dobrev) in terrible jeopardy. Despite Matt’s (Zach Roerig) advice to leave town to protect herself, a defiant Bonnie (Kat Graham) takes matters into her own hands after finding herself on the receiving end of a twisted plan. As Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline (Candice Accola) reach an emotional crossroad in their relationship, a reunion with Liv (guest star Penelope Mitchell) leaves Tyler (Michael Trevino) faced with a decision that could change his life forever. Meanwhile, Lily’s (guest star Annie Wersching) reckless actions cause Stefan to realize the lengths to which his mother will go to reunite with her “family.” Finally, after a devastating chain of events, Damon (Ian Somerhalder) is forced to make the most difficult decision of his life. Michael Malarkey also stars. Chris Grismer directed the episode written by Julie Plec & Caroline Dries (#622). Original airdate 5/14/2015.
I don’t really call it a triangle, because Stefan has become more of a soul-friend of Elena’s and so he’s dealing with his own stuff, but those two are still very connected, but it’s more ‘How do we maintain Elena and Damon’s love story while he’s not present?’ So that was our challenge as writers, but I think we do a cool job of it.
But what about Stefan and Caroline?
‘It’s a very slow build for them’ Dries promised.
jessie16:
what did Tyler say to Caroline when he found out?
He basically just yelled at her, he listed some of the horrible things Klaus did. Then he told her that he walked out last time and this time it was her turn. He yelled at her to get out and not to come a step closer and then he wolfed out when she tried to come to him
So, I should say I kinda felt optimistic about Forwood breaking up, too. Because I felt confident it would be done for valid reasons from both povs. And I was confident it made sense, because as sad as it is, they clearly love each other so it’s for other reasons. Responsibilities, life priorities they don’t seem to make them work right now.
Yet, on Twitter I asked Robyn Ross how many tissues I would need to prepare for the break up and she told me: “Not too many. I think Caroline deserves better”. Now, all my optimism is gone. They’re so going to make him appear like a douchebag, they’re going to make him get the blame, in order for Caroline to feel better when Stefan or Jesse or soemeone else is gonna try to get into her pants. Because at the end of the day, that’s how this show works.
Rapers, mass murderers and psychopaths either get the girl or their show or the audience love, the ones that are actually good guys get screwed. Ans the girls, poor them they live in order for those rapers, mass murderers and psycopaths to win.
